Theophanes or Fanis graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2015 with first-class honours. After finishing a 6-month traineeship in Veterinary Pathology in the same university, he fulfilled his obligatory 9-month military service as a veterinary soldier in the 3rd Army Veterinary Hospital. Following this he completed a 1-year Internship in Small animal Medicine in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and now he is currently an Intern in neurology/neurosurgery at Dick White Referrals in the UK.
His particular interest in veterinary education started as an undergraduate student; he was the first chairman of both the Standing Committee on One Health 2013/2014 and the Standing Committee on Veterinary Education 2014/2015 of the International Veterinary Students' Association (IVSA) delivering some projects that still are running.
He also participated as a Student Expert in the European Association of Establishments in Veterinary Education (EAEVE) evaluation team, during the ESEVT I Visitation in a European veterinary school in Spain (2016).
He has been volunteering for WikiVet since 2014, as he finds WikiVet's perspectives for veterinary students worldwide of great value to the future of veterinary education.
