Emmanuelle (Emmie) Asrow is a second-year veterinary medical student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. In 2016, she graduated with her BSc in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Emmie currently volunteers to help run Wisconsin Companion Animal Resources, Education, and Social Services (WisCARES). WisCARES is an outreach partnership at the University of Wisconsin which provides free veterinary medical care and assistance with social services to pet owners who are currently experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Additionally, Emmie is a Nestle Purina Student Representative, the UW-Madison SAVMA Corresponding Secretary-Elect, the HSVMA Student Chapter Laboratory Coordinator, a peer tutor, and has been a speaker at the UW-Madison National One Health Day Colloquium. In the future, she would like to be a small animal practitioner in emergency or shelter medicine coupled with work in disaster response and international One Health Initiatives.
